During my recent Beauty Swap with my twitter friend @Mzbasi7, I received a little goody that I am absolutely in love with. She sent me the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush. I already have one by ELF, but completely forgot about it, as I have been using liquid liner as of late. I just had to try it out, and realized that I misplaced my Wet n’ Wild cream liner, but managed to find my Physician’s Formula liner. Although it did the job, I wasn’t thoroughly impressed, and started searching the web for a good drugstore gel liner to practice with before I take the plunge at MAC.
While researching, I found that a lot of people swore by L’Oreal HIP gel liner, and while at Target, I decided to pick it up. Let me just say guys, swatched on my hand, it is AMAZING. As black as they come, and extremely smooth. I have yet to try it on my eyes, but it swatched so well, that it automatically gets put on my 10 days of beauty.
The brush makes it so much easier to apply, and so easy to create that perfect wing (which is HUGE this season).

The HIP liner retails for about $8-$12, and can be found at your local drugstores, Walmarts, and Targets. I know CVS and RiteAid always have coupons and around $3.00 off, along with buy 1 get 1 50% off. You can also check out Ulta, which offers similar deals. Don’t forget to print out your coupon for $3.50 off your $10 purchase.. SCORE!
My perfect little wing! – with my. excuse me, not so perfect brows.

What’s your favorite gel/cream liner? Have you tried HIP? How did it work out for you?

So mint is ALL the craze this season, and I can totally see why. It’s an amazingly gorgeous color that compliments about every skin tone. It’s also the perfect way to incorporate colored denim, without having to be too conscious about body type/shape. Many bottom heavy girls feel conscious about wearing colored denim, as they feel it may attract more attention to that area. While I do not agree, I feel that mint is the perfect amount of color that any girl would feel comfortable wearing.
I love pairing mint with tan, off white, and gold. While I did not have a white and tan top, I had a black and tan polka dot one which I feel paired nicely. I did however, pick a white one up a few days later, (I just can’t say no to polka dots).
Anyway, enough with the rambling, here are just a few pictures (sorry for the poor iPhone quality photos). I need to hire a photographer!

On my eyes:
I wish I could remember exactly what I packed on, but I do know they were colors from the Naked 2 palette! I’m trying harder to use my palettes more.
I have to say, I was quite impressed with the quality of these jeans, in comparison to some of their other jeans that I own. These were the “twill” pair, and I felt that they were a little thicker than some of the other colored denim which are more thin and stretchy. They maintained their fit throughout the day, while some of my other pairs tend to start sagging in unflattering places.
That’s all folks!
PS: As we hit our 1 year mark here at ChicObsessed, I am planning on doing a small giveaway. Stay tuned for rules and instructions!
Happy Shopping!
