Fall Beauty Picks
1. Metallics
My favorite part of fall is having pretty nails. Deep plums , dark cherries, and metallics have got to be my absolute favorite. It’s a world away from the bright neons for summer. They also look amazing on pale fall/winter skin!
My Picks: Zoya Stacy, Zoya Celine, and Sephora for OPI in S-age Is Just A Number
2. Deep shaded lipstick
These are ALL the rage this season, and frankly I’m loving them. The greatest part about a dark colored lip, is that you can look effortlessly chic, without having to overload on other makeup. A clean winged liner, some mascara, and some blush, and you’re good to go!
My Picks: MAC Cyber (pictured above), MAC Rebel, MAC Diva
3. Deep shaded lipliner
If you’re planning on rocking out a dark lip, make sure you have a liner to pair it up with. Liners are great at preventing bleeding, which can definitely be a problem with highly pigmented colors, such as reds, berries, and plums.
My Picks: MAC Nightmoth, MAC Currant, NYX Prune (dupe for NM), NYX Plum, NYX Currant, NYX Mahogany
4. Earthtone shadows
While pairing a winged liner may go great with a dark lip, so do earth toned shadows. They also compliment the color of fall leaves beautifully, Many earth tones also bring out the eyes. Purples bring out browns, plums bring out greens, browns bring out blues.
My Picks: MAC Sumptuous Olive, MAC Play on Plums, MAC Shadowy Lady, MAC Petina
5. Gel liner
To get that perfect bold black winged liner, a good gel liner is all you need. A nice flick of liner can really bring your whole look together. It balances a bold lip.
My Picks: L’oreal HIP gel liner
6. Illuminator
While many of you may think that illuminators are great for summer, they can be great for even the colder seasons. I have many powders, but the best part of having a liquid, is being able to mix it in with your foundation. It gives you a dewy finish with a subtle, but noticeable glow.
My Picks: NARS Copacabana
7. Flush blush
Summer is all about bronzers, and fall/winter is all about acheiving that flushed look. Investing in a good pink blush is key. It’s important to use a light hand. You want it to look natural, as opposed to clownish. It should look like you just came in from a cold blustery day.
My Picks: MAC DollyMix, MAC Breezy, NYX Mocha, NYX Bourgeois Pig, Wet n’ Wild Mellow Wine
8. Good mascara
I think my favorite part of Fall is the drama. A good mascara can really make those eyes pop. Lashes are a great way to add drama to your look. Layering mascaras is an easy way to achieve it.
My Picks: L’Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black, L’Oreal Voluminous Fiber, L’Oreal Voluminous Collagen.
